Solid polishing compound - Green
Application:
Green solid finishing compound For all kinds of metals
The compound should be used on a Sisal buff or stitched buff. A white stitched buff is ideal for cutting into metals. With the correct compound it will remove stretcher strains, orange peel, polishing wheel grit lines, light die marks etc.
Different metals have varying characteristics. To achieve the best possible result, the correct compound and polishing buff must be selected for the job.
Features
- Used in a variety of industries on metals and gradually apply a clean and professional finish.
- Cutting, finishing and polishing compounds suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Repair, restore and polish metals.
Extra Information
- This green compound is formulated as a finishing compound for all types of metal.
- Use with a suitable stitched buff or sisal buffing wheel.
- For heavily scratched, oxidised or weathered surfaces, use an appropriate cutting compound before applying RCC G-14.
- Clean the workpiece before polishing to prevent dirt and debris from contaminating the buffing wheel.
- Apply the compound sparingly, as excessive compound can build up on the wheel and generate unnecessary heat.
- Store the compound in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place away from sources of ignition.
- Keep the compound away from direct sunlight and high temperatures to help prevent degradation.
- Recommended Tork Craft accessory ranges include the TCBF_- Series, TC801_- Series and TC872_- Series.
Pro Tips
- Use a clean, dedicated buffing wheel for the finishing compound to prevent contamination from coarser abrasives.
- Apply only a light coating of compound to the wheel; overloading may reduce polishing efficiency and increase heat.
- Begin with light pressure and allow the buffing wheel and compound to create the finish.
- Move the workpiece continuously across the buff to prevent heat from concentrating in one area.
- Work progressively across the surface to achieve an even and consistent appearance.
- Clean compound residue from the polished surface with a soft, clean microfibre cloth.
- Test the compound on a small, inconspicuous area before polishing plated or delicate finishes.
- Do not mix cutting and finishing compounds on the same buffing wheel.
How to Use
- Inspect the polishing machine, buffing wheel and workpiece before starting.
- Clean the metal surface to remove dirt, grease and loose contamination.
- Complete any necessary cutting or surface preparation before beginning the finishing stage.
- Select a clean stitched or sisal buffing wheel suitable for the metal and required finish.
- Secure the buffing wheel correctly and confirm that it is rated for the machine&s operating speed.
- Wear suitable eye, hearing, respiratory and hand protection before operating the equipment.
- Start the machine and allow the buffing wheel to reach its normal operating speed.
- Lightly press the compound bar against the rotating wheel for a brief moment to transfer a small amount.
- Present the workpiece carefully to the lower working section of the buffing wheel and apply light, controlled pressure.
- Move the workpiece continuously across the buff to create an even finish and reduce heat build-up.
- Reapply a small amount of compound only when the polishing action begins to decrease.
- Switch off the machine, allow the wheel to stop completely and wipe the finished surface with a clean, soft cloth.
