Extra Information

  • The manufacturer&s model number is 599.20, while the Vermont Sales product code is PG59920.
  • Use only compatible 11 mm diameter hot melt glue sticks suitable for the materials being bonded.
  • The tool operates from a 230V AC supply and may be fitted with a European-style plug; use only an approved correctly rated plug adaptor where required.
  • Bond strength depends on the selected adhesive, surface condition, operating temperature and material combination.
  • Smooth or non-porous surfaces may benefit from light abrasion where appropriate to improve adhesive grip.
  • This hot melt glue gun is intended for general-purpose bonding and should not be used for structural or safety-critical joints.

Pro Tips

  • Clean, dry and degrease both surfaces before applying the hot melt adhesive.
  • Apply glue to the less heat-sensitive surface when bonding two different materials.
  • Join the components immediately after dispensing the adhesive, as hot melt glue begins setting quickly.
  • Use small dots or a thin continuous bead instead of excessive adhesive for cleaner, stronger results.
  • Pre-warm very cold or highly heat-conductive materials slightly where safe, as they can cause the adhesive to set too quickly.
  • Keep the glue gun upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface during pauses to minimise dripping.
  • Allow the joint to cool completely before applying load or testing its strength.

How to Use

  • Inspect the glue gun, cable, plug and nozzle before use and do not operate the tool if damaged.
  • Clean, dry and correctly position the surfaces that will be bonded.
  • Insert a compatible 11 mm glue stick into the opening at the rear of the glue gun.
  • Place the glue gun upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface and connect it to a suitable 230V supply.
  • Allow the tool sufficient time to heat the adhesive before operating the trigger.
  • Press the trigger gently until molten glue begins flowing smoothly from the nozzle.
  • Apply a controlled bead or small adhesive dots to one of the prepared surfaces.
  • Join the components immediately and hold them firmly in position while the adhesive begins to set.
  • Place the glue gun upright on its support between applications and keep the hot nozzle away from surrounding objects.
  • Disconnect the tool after use and allow it to cool completely before cleaning or storing it.
