The compound should be used on a Sisal buff or stitched buff. A white stitched buff is ideal for cutting into metals. With the correct compound it will remove stretcher strains, orange peel,polishing wheel grit lines, light die marks etc.

Different metals have varying characteristics. To achieve the best possible result, the correct compound and polishing buff must be selected for the job.

This grey compound is intended for finishing stainless steel, chrome, steel and aluminium.

Pro Tips

Use a separate buffing wheel for each compound grade to prevent contamination from coarser abrasives.
Apply only a light coating of compound to the rotating wheel; more compound does not necessarily produce a better finish.
Move the workpiece continuously across the buffing wheel to reduce localised heat build-up.
Begin with light pressure and increase it gradually only when required.
Remove heavy scratches and oxidation with the appropriate cutting compound before changing to this finishing compound.
Clean residual compound from the polished surface with a soft, clean microfibre cloth.
Test the compound on a small, inconspicuous area when working with plated or delicate finished surfaces.

How to Use

Inspect the buffing machine, wheel and workpiece before starting.
Select a suitable stitched or sisal buffing wheel for the metal and required finish.
Secure the buffing wheel correctly and confirm that it is rated for the machine&s operating speed.
Wear suitable eye, hearing, respiratory and hand protection before operating the equipment.
Start the machine and allow the buffing wheel to reach its normal operating speed.
Lightly press the compound bar against the rotating wheel for a brief moment to transfer a small amount of compound.
Present the workpiece carefully to the lower working section of the buffing wheel and apply light, controlled pressure.
Move the workpiece continuously to avoid overheating or polishing one area excessively.
Reapply a small amount of compound only when the polishing action begins to decrease.
Switch off the machine, allow the wheel to stop completely and wipe the finished surface with a clean, soft cloth.
