Green solid cutting compound for stainless steel and aluminium alloys

The compound should be used on a Sisal buff or stitched buff. A white stitched buff is ideal for cutting into metals. With the correct compound it will remove stretcher strains, orange peel,polishing wheel grit lines, light die marks etc.

Different metals have varying characteristics. To achieve the best possible result, the correct compound and polishing buff must be selected for the job.

This green compound is intended for cutting stainless steel, aluminium and aluminium alloys.
Use with a suitable stitched buff or sisal buffing wheel.

A finer finishing compound may be used after RCC G-13 when a brighter or more refined final finish is required.

Use a dedicated buffing wheel for each compound grade to prevent contamination from finer or coarser abrasives.
Apply only a light coating of compound to the wheel; overloading may reduce cutting efficiency and increase heat.
Move the workpiece continuously across the buffing wheel to prevent localised heat build-up.
Begin with light pressure and allow the compound and buffing wheel to perform the cutting action.
Work progressively across the surface rather than concentrating on one small area for too long.
Clean heavily oxidised or contaminated surfaces before buffing for more consistent results.
Change to a clean buffing wheel and suitable finishing compound when moving to the final polishing stage.
Test the compound on a small area before polishing delicate, plated or highly visible components.

How to Use

Inspect the polishing machine, buffing wheel and workpiece before starting.
Clean the metal surface to remove grease, dirt and loose contamination.
Select a suitable stitched or sisal buffing wheel for the required cutting action.
Secure the buffing wheel correctly and confirm that it is rated for the machine&s operating speed.
Wear suitable eye, hearing, respiratory and hand protection before operating the equipment.
Start the machine and allow the buffing wheel to reach its normal operating speed.
Lightly press the compound bar against the rotating wheel for a brief moment to transfer a small amount.
Present the workpiece carefully to the lower working section of the buffing wheel and apply light, controlled pressure.
Move the workpiece continuously across the buff to create an even cut and reduce heat build-up.
Reapply a small amount of compound only when the cutting action begins to decrease.
Switch off the machine, allow the wheel to stop completely and inspect the prepared surface.
Use a suitable finishing compound and clean buffing wheel when a finer final polish is required.
